About Me

My Story

At an early age I knew that I had an aptitude for database and software development.  Starting in languages such as dBase, DB2, Nomad, Assembler, C and others.  I started taking college courses in the 7th grade, which is also when I landed my first position doing database work for the City Of DeKalb.  In the mid-90’s I started using Microsoft SQL Server at version 6.5.  This version of SQL Server was pre-visual, so everything had to be hand coded.  To this day I still do most of my coding by hand.  It gives me more control over the code vs using a visual tool that generates code in the background.  I look at the system as a whole and leverage existing structures where possible.  25 years and a multitude of positions later, I am still using Microsoft SQL Server.  While so much has changed and the product has evolved, it remains a premier relational database management system.  While there are systems that may have small advantages here and there, Microsoft SQL Server is arguably one of the best out there.  I continue to push the envelope and create software that is cutting edge for my clients.  EOE, I am also a US foreign war campaign veteran with a disability.
